2 Men Dead, 1 Critically Hurt In East New York Deli Shooting: Cops

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — Two men are dead and a third is critically hurt after a shooting in an East New York deli on July 4, according to police.

The shooting broke out just after 11:30 p.m. on the holiday inside a Loring Avenue deli between Forbell and Drew streets, police said.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

An 18-year-old man shot in the torso and a 23-year-old man shot in the neck were both rushed to the hospital, where the 23-year-old succumbed to his injuries, according to police. The 18-year-old was in critical condition as of Tuesday morning, police said.

Police took a man into custody after the shooting, but no charges had been filed as of Tuesday morning, according to the NYPD.
