Man Choked Outside BK Supportive Housing Complex Dies: NYPD, Reports
Eduardo Martinez, 42, was arrested after a 30-year-old man was put in a chokehold outside a supportive housing facility in Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN, NY — A man who was put in a chokehold by a neighbor in front of a supportive housing facility in Brooklyn, where they both lived, died, police said.
Eduardo Martinez, 42, was charged with manslaughter after police said he got into an argument with Brandon Paulino, 30, outside the MacDougal Street Apartments complex on MacDougal St. near Broadway in Brownsville about 1:40 p.m. Sunday.
Martinez told police that Paulino accused him of assaulting a 3-year-old girl before punching him, according to court records and the New York Daily News.

Paulino eventually became fatigued during the fight and was lying on his stomach when Martinez reportedly placed his hands around his neck and strangled him from behind, court records show.
Paulino was rushed to Interfaith Medical Center, where he died on the same day, according to police.

Martinez pled not guilty during his arraignment Wednesday, according to court documents. The bail amount was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
The MacDougal Street Apartments is a 65-unit facility that opened in 2011 and is run by the nonprofit Concern Housing.
