2 Teens Wanted In Alleged Anti-Hispanic East NY Hate Crime: Cops
According to police, the 2 teens, who appeared to be as young as 14, hit a Hispanic man repeatedly with a metal object.
EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — Two teenagers are on the loose after they attacked a Hispanic man in an apparent hate crime in the East New York area, cops said. The alleged hate crime occurred in the early morning of Jan. 11, the NYPD said. According to police, at 4:40 a.m., in front of 611 Van Siclen Ave., the two teens who appeared to be as young as 14 years old hit a 36-year-old man repeatedly with a metal object and then punched and kicked him while hurling anti-Hispanic remarks at him. The attackers then fled the scene.
The victim suffered a lot of pain all over his body and cuts to his face, police said. He was transported to Jamaica Hospital by emergency responders and was treated there and later released.
Cops describe the first suspect as a black man around 14 to 18 years old, 5-foot-9-inches to 6 feet tall, and he was last seen wearing a white and black hoodie, black jacket vest, black torn jeans and black sneakers. The second suspect was described as a black man 14 to 18 years old, also 5-foot-9-inches to 6-feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants and black sneakers, cops said.
