Brownsville Dad's Suspected Killer Arrested: NYPD
The father of two was shot outside a deli in October, just weeks after his brother was killed a few yards away, according to reports.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN —Police arrested the man suspected of shooting a Brownsville dad just weeks after his younger brother was gunned down in the neighborhood, according to police and reports.
Waajid Pierce, 48, was arrested late Sunday, several months after 33-year-old Daishwan Benjamin was fatally shot outside a Belmont Avenue deli on Oct. 27, police said.
Benjamin's death had been the second in the family in just a matter of weeks. Benjamin's younger brother, Kizer Williams, had been gunned down in a gang feud on Oct. 3 around the corner from the deli, at the Seth Low Houses, according to police and reports.

There have been no arrests in Williams' death.
Benjamin, who lived in East New York, was found shot multiple times in the torso just after 8:30 a.m. in front of the deli, which is near Mother Gaston Boulevard, police said. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, police said.

The father of two had been a primary caregiver for his 8-year-old and 1-year-old daughter and had worked at the Barclays Center and Kennedy Airport, his family said at the time.
