Man In Critical Condition After Belt Parkway Crash In East NY: Cops
The man was hit after pulling his disabled car over on the highway, according to police.

BROOKLYN, NY — A man is fighting for his life after he was hit by his own car on the Belt Parkway in East New York, according to police.
The crash unfolded as the 29-year-old driver was standing outside his disabled Toyota Camry in the left lane of the highway near Fountain Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. on Friday, according to police.
Soon, a person in a Honda trying to go around him stopped behind the car, police said.

Another driver then tried to swerve around both cars, but instead side-swiped the Honda Accord and crashed into the Camry with his Nissan Rogue, according to police. The Camry rotated and hit the 29-year-old man standing outside the car, police said.
The man was rushed to the hospital with severe head trauma and is in critical condition, police said.

Both the Honda Accord and Nissan Rogue drivers stayed at the scene of the crash and were not hurt, police said.
The collision is being investigated by the NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad.
It is the second crash on the Belt Parkway in East New York within a week. Last week, a 35-year-old woman driving on the highway near Erskine Street was killed when she fell from her car into traffic, police said.
