Man Shot After Fight On Brooklyn L Train, Cops Say

BROOKLYN, NY — A 27-year-old man was shot while riding a Brooklyn L train Sunday night, according to police.

The man was shot in the chest after getting into an argument with the unknown shooter around 10 p.m. on the train, which was near Broadway Junction station at the time, according to police.

The 27-year-old was sent to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

The shooter, who fled the station after the incident, was last seen wearing a black coat and black shoes, police said. He is around 20 years old, stands about 6’0” and weighs approximately 145 pounds, according to police.

The incident comes as officials work to tamp down crime on the city's subway system with a "Subway Safety Plan" revealed earlier this month.

Violent attacks have continued even as the safety plan rolled out last week, including a woman who was brutally beaten with a hammer during a robbery at Queens Plaza station and a 20-year-old woman who was punched and stabbed while standing at the Van Siclen Avenue station in East New York, according to officials.
