Suspect Revealed In Fatal Stabbing Of Brownsville Teen: Cops
A man was fighting with 19-year-old Vernon Douglas before he was stabbed to death on Rockaway Avenue, according to police.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A potential suspect has been revealed in the fatal stabbing of a Brownsville teenager, according to police.
Police released photos late Wednesday of a man connected to the slaying of 19-year-old Vernon Douglas, who was found stabbed on Rockaway Avenue last Thursday, June 30, according to police.
Douglas had been fighting with a man in front of a building near Lott Avenue just before 9 p.m. that night when the man took out a knife and stabbed the 19-year-old twice in the chest, police said. Douglas was rushed to the hospital, where he died, according to police.

The man Douglas had been arguing with fled on Lott Avenue after the incident, police said.

Douglas' death came just a few months after he had been charged with a hate crime after police say he attacked three Sikh men in Queens. Police told the New York Post his stabbing did not appear to be retaliatory or connected to the hate crime incidents.
