3. $150K rewards offered for info in separate cases after WNY mail carriers were robbed (wkbw.com) — Federal postal inspectors are offering up to $150,000 for tips after a mail carrier was robbed at gunpoint near Northland Avenue and Moselle Street in Buffalo, and another was robbed in Niagara Falls. U.S. DOT Secretary: NYS is worst offender on truck driver CDL process and immigration status (wgrz.com) — Buffalo-area drivers and taxpayers could be affected as U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy threatens to withhold about $73 million in New York highway funds over alleged improper commercial truck licenses, while Rep. Tim Kennedy of Buffalo blasts the move as a political stunt. Local trucking voices in Western New York say cracking down on fraudulent CDL “mills” is vital for road safety.
