2 Trapped Dogs Rescued From Somerset County River Monday
The two dogs were pulled to safety after they became trapped in a body of water Monday evening, officials said.

MANVILLE, NJ - The Manville Rescue Squad pulled two dogs to safety after they became trapped in a body of water Monday evening.
The squad, along with Manville police and fire department, first received the call for help at around 7:30 p.m. The caller noted the dogs were “stuck” in the Millstone River behind Lincoln Avenue Park and in need of rescue, the Manville Rescue Squad said in a statement.
The squad responded to the area with an ambulance, rescue truck and boats, and met with police and fire personnel by the waterway to formulate a plan.

Water rescue personnel from the Rescue Squad and Fire Department ultimately rescued the dogs from the water and turned them over to animal control to hopefully locate their owners, the rescue squad said.
“Although both dogs were muddy, wet and cold, they appeared uninjured,” the squad added.
