Bushwick Bar The Narrows To Throw Immigration Appreciation Fiesta

"The four Mexican immigrants on our small staff are not only indispensable to our business but are also our friends," the bar owner said.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Trendy Bushwick cocktail bar The Narrows on Flushing Avenue is throwing an Immigration Appreciation Fiesta on Thursday, it announced. The dinner and drinking party is a celebration of America's immigrants and the restaurant's own staff, whom the bar owner Keith Cochran calls "the backbone of America."

The bar partnered with Mexican brand Tequila Cazadores to throw the event. It will be serving Antonio's secret recipe for guacamole and Angela's Famous Chicken Tinga, among other special Mexican food items. Cochran created a Cazadores Paloma Punch with Mexican spice-infused Tequila Cazadores Reposado, mixed with house-made grapefruit oleo sacrum, grapefruit, lime juice and soda.

"The goal is to celebrate the members of our staff who usually remain behind the scenes," Cochran said. "Immigrants are the backbone of the service industry, but on a more personal level, the four Mexican immigrants on our small staff are not only indispensable to our business but are also our friends. We hope that in highlighting some of the food and drink from their culture we can celebrate our shared culture. Throwing a good party is certainly cross cultural!"
