Bushwick Bar Offers 'Man Bun Special': Chop It Off, Get Free Booze

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Local bar Boobie Trap is offering an only-in-Brooklyn special this New Year's: Chop off your man bun, and enjoy one full, free bottle of booze. The bar posted a hot pink sign on its door featuring the terms of the "Man Bun Special" right after Christmas.

"We'd film the amputation and pin the bun up on the wall," Boobie Trap co-owner Kristen North told Brokelyn on Tuesday.

However, the bar quickly tired of all the attention it was getting from the pro- and anti-man bun contingents. Contacted by Patch later Tuesday, a Boobie Trap representative would say only, via Facebook messenger: "We are no longer commenting on the special. It was meant to be silly cause after all we are in the business of getting people drunk and that's all xoxo."

And that, ladies and gents, is how the online news cycle can kill a joke in two minutes flat.
