Armed Man Fails to Rob Bushwick Toy Store: NYPD

The suspect left Max Department Toy Gift Wholesale last Sunday afternoon without stealing a single store item, police say.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for a man (pictured above) who allegedly pulled a gun on three Bushwick toy store employees.

The suspect entered the office of Max Department Toy Gift Wholesale, located at 1225 Flushing Ave., near Wyckoff Avenue, on Sunday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

He then showed a gun to three employees and demanded money, police said, but the workers ran away.

The suspect then left the store himself, police said — without any loot whatsoever.

Detectives described the attempted thief as a black man standing around 6-feet-2-inches in height. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded sweater, a black jacket and light blue jeans, police said.

This alleged crime occurred in the NYPD's 90th Precinct. According to police statistics, through April 24, major crimes in the 90th had collectively decreased nearly 2 percent compared to the same period last year. A total of 73 robberies had been reported in the precinct during that time, compared to 77 robberies in 2015.
