Kicked Out of Brooklyn Gay Bar, Man Threatens to 'Come Back Orlando Style'

Bed-Stuy man Justin Rice, 40, was arrested Monday after allegedly threatening to kill gay patrons of the Bushwick bar Happyfun Hideaway.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A local resident kicked out of a beloved Bushwick gay bar late Monday night allegedly went nuts on the bouncer, shouting gay slurs and threatening to "come back Orlando style" — a sickening reference to a mass-casualty slaughter at a gay club in Orlando not 48 hours prior.

When Justin Rice, 40, a resident of Jefferson Avenue in Bed-Stuy, was asked to leave the Happyfun Hideaway dive bar at Myrtle and Willoughby that night, an NYPD spokeswoman told Patch, he allegedly "became aggravated and aggressive" and threatened to shoot up the bar.

Rice yelled slurs such as "f**k you, f**gots" and "I'll kill you, f**gots" before hurling a metal bucket at the bouncer, police said.

The NYPD responded to the bar around midnight and arrested Rice. He was charged with assault, aggravated harassment based on race or religion and criminal possession of a weapon, according to a police spokeswoman.
