New Film About A Modern Civil War Called 'Bushwick'

The action movie's premise is soldiers start invading the protagonist's home in Bushwick, Brooklyn in the name of secession from the U.S.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Bushwick is synonymous with hip bars and cafes, concerts and overpriced lofts, but one thing it's never quite been associated with is a new American Civil War... until now. A new action-thriller called Bushwick, which will make its debut on Jan. 21 at the Sundance Film Festival, is about a woman named Lucy (played by actress Brittany Snow) who gets off the subway in her neighborhood of Bushwick and realizes Brooklyn is under attack by "black-clad soldiers." A clip from the movie released Wednesday shows an action-packed fight in which a "black-clad soldier" with a gun says he represents the south that wants to secede from the U.S.

It is not clear if they filmed any of the scenes in Bushwick. Patch put out a call to the film company to see just how accurate it will be geographically and culturally and will update if we hear back. For now, here's the clip, posted by Entertainment Weekly, which we'll link out to since it's pretty graphic and peppered with offensive language.
