• Voters approve $19M improvement project for Cairo-Durham (news10.com) — Cairo-Durham voters have approved a $19 million capital improvement project that will upgrade facilities across the district, including the elementary school and high school. Work will focus on modern, safe learning spaces, with construction expected to begin in summer 2027 and wrap up by December 2027.
   

• Man Killed, Several Injured In 3-Car Highway Crash In Athens (dailyvoice.com) — A Cairo resident, 57-year-old Darin Lucido, was killed in a three-car crash Tuesday afternoon on Route 9W in Athens, which also left several others seriously injured. The highway was closed for about five hours as multiple Greene County agencies responded, and loved ones are being invited to share remembrances and funeral details.
