The Robotics Team, under the teaching and leadership of science teacher Keith Wynne, took home 3rd Place with their Research Presentation at the FIRST LEGO League Brooklyn Borough Qualifying Tournament on January 8.
By winning third place at the tournament, which was held at the NYU Polytechnic University, the team will advance to the citywide tournament at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on March 13.
"It has been a lot of very hard work," said Wynne, who has been running the robotics team for five seasons. "But with tremendous patience and perseverance we were able to succeed."

PS 58's team will compete against the top 80 of over 200 teams in New York City.
For Wynne, the best thing about the robotics team is what it teaches the students.

"The children learn to understand that their careful attention to detail and continued hard work and support of one another pays off in the end," he said.
Mr. Wynne was recently featured on Carroll Gardens Patch for his work on the at PS 58.
