The Smith and 9th Street station is <a href="http://www.mta.info/nyct/service/Smith9Sts.htm" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">closed in both directions for ongoing work on the Culver Viaduct</a>. The MTA says the station will be closed until Spring 2012. Travel alternatives: • Use the B61 bus for connections between Smith &amp; 9 Street and 4 Avenue/9 Street stations. Trains are available at 4 Avenue/9 Street. • Use the B57 bus for connections between Smith &amp; 9 Street and Carroll Street stations. Trains are available at Carroll Street. During this service change, overnight B61 service runs more frequently — every 20 minutes.
