Gymnast Aly Raisman Will Speak At Carroll Gardens Event

Hear the gold medal-winner's secrets to success.

CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN — Carroll Gardens residents and others in the area will get a chance to hear some of Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman's secrets to success later this month.

The gold medal-winner will speak at Hannah Senesh Community Day School as part of a guest speaker series on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

The private Jewish school on Smith and Second streets hosts a Conversations@Senesh series, moderated by journalist Virginia Heffernan.

Raisman will hold a meet and greet with attendees before the event at 5:30 p.m., and everyone will get a printed photo with her.

Then, Raisman and Senesh will discuss "the drivers of her success, the challenges of growing up as an elite gymnast, and the Jewish values that inspired both her gymnastics career and her advocacy on behalf of body positivity," according to the school.

Tickets are $50 for the meet and greet and $36 to hear the conversation. They can be purchased here.

Raisman competed on the U.S. Olympic team in 2012 and 2016, taking home three gold medals during that stretch. Those included team golds in both years and an individual floor exercise gold in 2012.
