Swastika Graffiti Found In Carroll Park
"Max was here," the chalk writing reads, next to a picture of a swastika.

CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN — Graffiti containing a swastika was spotted Friday afternoon in Carroll Park.
Jane Trachet sent Patch the above photo that she said was taken Friday afternoon while her kid was playing on the playground in the little children's section of the park.
"Max was here," it reads in blue chalk, next to a picture of a swastika.

"This is located in the enclosed section of the little children's section of the park," Trachet told Patch. "My husband spotted it while enjoying the nice weather with some family park time."
She posted the photo on Facebook and tagged a number of city officials, alerting them to the hateful symbol in the neighborhood.

City Councilman Brad Lander, who represents the area, responded quickly and said he would contact the 76th Precinct to get it removed.
Trachet declined to share her religious views with Patch but said, "My family and I stand strongly against all forms of hatred directed towards any religion, ethnicity as well as all the marginalized peoples who have always had to face hatred but do so more, under the Presidential cabinet."
It's not the fist time Trachet has seen such symbols in the neighborhood, either.
Earlier this summer, she saw an "SS Bolt," a symbol of the state police in Nazi Germany, inside the Carroll Street subway station. That was quickly scrubbed over by the MTA.
