3. It took the jury four hours to convict Leniz "La Diablita" Escobar in the deaths of four young men in Central Islip on April 11, 2017. Prosecutors convinced the jury that Escobar was both "bait" that lured the young men into the park that day and the “mastermind” who helped plot the quadruple slaying. Stony Brook Heart Institute is one of only five elite sites nationwide and the only facility on Long Island to be chosen to take part in the first-phase clinical trial for PerQseal in advance of submission for approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). "The PerQseal device is the first suture-less, fully-absorbable intravascular ‘patch’ that seals an artery from the inside after heart valve repair or replacement.
