1. Race on! The Riverhead Town Board green lights car racing events for 2022 at the Calverton Enterprise Park. All events will be held at the former Grumman site. The first event of the year, “Scrambul: Cold Fusion,” will take place on the afternoons of March 5-6, with a rain date of March 12-13, and a maximum of 1,000 people in attendance. (RiverheadLOCAL)
2. In celebration of Black History Month: Get ready for a spectacular evening featuring the New York City-based dance company, Complexions Contemporary Ballet as they perform two new full-length pieces on the same program for the very first time. “Woke” and “Love Rocks” will be performed in one full-length evening program on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 8 p.m. at Staller Center, in Stony Brook. 3. Mark your calendars! The "13th Annual Denim & Diamonds Golf & Gala" is slated to take place on Monday, June 13 at the Westhampton Country Club, located at 35 Potunk Lane. The event kicks off with a brunch at 10:30 a.m., followed by golf, a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., and dinner, dancing and awards beginning at 7 p.m. Purchase tickets here. The goal of this fundraiser is to raise funds for a pool for aqua therapy which will benefit many patients as well as caregivers at New Beginnings and the Brendan House. To build the pool, $100,000 is needed. Currently, architectural plans and permits are in place. (Patch)
