Here are the top stories in Center Moriches-Eastport today:

  1. LGBTQ Health Awareness Week encourages everyone to speak openly about LGBTQ health. Discrimination against LGBT persons has been associated with high rates of psychiatric disorders, substance abuse, and suicide. "The goal is to improve the health, safety, and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning or queer individuals," said Dr. Pigott, Suffolk County's Health Commissioner. (Press Release Desk)
  2. Brookhaven Town Police Blotter: March 26. A Calverton man robbed a man at gunpoint in Mastic Beach back in January, police said. A person was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital after being struck in the arm with an ax at a home on Gerda Court in Selden. Read more. (Patch)
  3. We most likely have no idea what it must feel like to flee our country in fear with your beloved pet in hand and with little to no possessions, much less pet food. Our local heroes at Paws Of War, are teaming up with overseas providers for relief to Ukrainian Refugees and their pets. Please donate to help Paws of War assist Ukrainian refugees and their pets, you just may feel a whole lot better if you do. (Smithtown Patch)
