Here are the top stories in Center Moriches-Eastport today:
- More of our beaches are closing due to bacteria at levels in excess of acceptable criteria. Bathing in bacteria-contaminated water can result in gastrointestinal illness, as well as infections of the eyes, ears, nose, and throat, according to Suffolk County Commissioner of Health Dr. Gregson Pigott. New on the closing list are Tanner Park Beach in Copiague, Corey Beach and Bayport Beach, both in Bayport, are closed to bathing. (Press Release Desk)
- The first Saturday in August, August 6, the Eastport Fire Department will hold its annual BBQ! Tickets can be purchased by either contacting the Fire house Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at 631-325-0464 ask for Andrew or contact anyone of your Eastport Fire Fighters.
