1. Saturday night, at Riverhead Raceway, defending NASCAR Modified champion Kyle Soper of Manorville seeking his fourth title in five years, scored a milestone 25th career victory. For the regular season opener, 22 Tour Type Modifieds signed in for competition. (RaceDayCT)
2. On Saturday afternoon, No. 1 Center Moriches defeated No. 3 Port Jefferson 11-7 in the Suffolk Class D girls lacrosse final Megan Magill scored three goals and had two assists. “I think being down early humbled us and showed us that we needed to work harder,” Magill said. (Newsday)
