Here are the top stories today in Center Moriches-Eastport:

1. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest of the driver of a sport-utility vehicle they said struck a pedestrian in Mastic Beach and then sped away last month. On April 21, at about 8 p.m., "the pedestrian was walking eastbound on Neighborhood Road, near Flower Road, when he was struck by a dark-colored SUV, and the vehicle was driven away southbound onto Flower Road," police said. Anyone with information about the crash can submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS. (Patch)
2. Police said a Quogue woman was told on a phone call that there was child pornography on her computer and that she had to purchase $10,000 in Home Depot gift cards to clear the device. The woman bought the cards from Home Depot in Riverhead and gave the card information over the phone on Feb. 15. Authorities said later that day, three people used the gift cards at Home Depot locations in Suffolk, Nassau, Queens and Kings counties. Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects should call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. (Subscription: Newsday)
3. In an effort to ramp up investigators efforts to solve the long-cold cases, new information on the Gilgo Beach homicides was released this Thursday. The first four victims were all prostitutes in their 20s and each of them were discovered within a one-mile radius as police searched for the body of another missing woman more than 11 years ago. A new $50,000 reward was posted seeking tips on the slayings. (Patch)
