2. Long Island Spring Restaurant Week is scheduled for April 24-May 1. Want to help your favorite participating restaurant? Book a reservation with one of the 55 restaurants currently listed as participants across Nassau and Suffolk counties. The participating restaurants offer fixed price menus for lunch and/or dinner. 3. Though hurricane season doesn't officially start until June 1, weather experts are advising to prepare now. For the past couple of years, Long Island has been dealing with preseason storms and a very active hurricane season; last year, there were 21 named storms and seven hurricanes. Experts are advising that coupled with the ongoing global supply chain issues paired with preseason storms, now is the time to get your hurricane plan in place. (Patch)
4. Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson received an award of $25,000 from the Katz Institute for Women's Health to assist in the creation of an Integrative Oncology Program to help with both the physical and mental pain of cancer patients. The services will be free of charge to participants and the clinic is planned to open in April. (TBR News Media)
