2. On Thursday afternoon, a fire broke out inside a Shirley home that had numerous pets. First responders rounded up the group of family pets, including three dogs and multiple cats, and brought them to safety. (Patch)

4. Supermoon alert! Sunday and Monday the first of two total lunar eclipses will be visible to New York residents, it will turn May's full flower moon blood red. According to NASA, the partial eclipse starts at 10:28 p.m. EDT. The moon's face will gradually get darker until fully covered at 12:11 a.m. Monday. The total eclipse will last about 1 hour and 25 minutes, ending at 1:55 a.m. (Patch)
