1. On Wednesday, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone announced a nonverbal communication board was unveiled at Blydenburgh County Park in Hauppauge for Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month. (Patch)
2. On Saturday, May 21, starting at 11 a.m., at South Bay Auctions, located at 485 Montauk Highway, East Moriches, the estate of world-renowned quilt expert, dealer and author, Laura Fisher (1945-2021) will be auctioned. More than 400 selected lots of quilts, hooked rugs and other textiles ranging from the late 18th to mid-20th century, will be on display for bidding. 3. On Tuesday, the nonprofit organization, Habitat for Humanity, announced a merge with the Nassau and Suffolk chapters to form Habitat for Humanity of Long Island. Leaders of the affiliate to the national organization said the merge will expand services to provide more Long Islanders in need with affordable homes. (Long Island Press)
