Giant Tree Falls In Central Park; Woman And 3 Kids Hurt
BREAKING: The tree fell down right across West Drive.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — A giant tree came down in Central Park Tuesday morning, injuring a woman and three children, officials said. The tree collapsed on West Drive near West 62nd street around 10 a.m., completely blocking the roadway, according to NYPD officials.
The FDNY confirmed that four people were treated by EMS and transported to local hospitals. The four people suffered non life-threatening injuries, a Parks Department spokesman told Patch.
"Crews mobilized immediately and are on-site now to clear the tree and investigate the incident," the Parks Department said in a statement.

Parks Department crews are inspecting trees in the vicinity for health and safety and are investigating the cause of the tree collapse, a Parks Department spokesman told Patch. The Parks Department spokesman told Patch he could not confirm the identities of the victims or the relationship between the injured woman and children.
The tree, and all trees in Central Park, are maintained by the Central Park Conservancy, a Parks Department spokesman told Patch.
