Heiress’ Townhouse Sold: Top 5 UES Real Estate Deals

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — It was a busy week for the luxury real estate market in Manhattan, with 37 deals closing over the $4 million mark, according to the latest data from the Olshan Report.

The most expensive deal on the list? A 35-foot-wide limestone townhouse on the Upper East Side that sold for $49.5 million on East 80th Street, between Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue, down from its original asking price of $59 million.

Originally built for a Woolworth's heiress, the palatial seven-story landmarked limestone mansion at 4 East 80th St. spans 20,000 square feet with nine bedrooms, 11.5 bathrooms, and three kitchens.

In Manhattan, it's the third week in a row with more than 30 deals inked on homes worth more than $4 million, according to Olshan, signaling that perhaps the mayoral election hasn't had an effect on luxury real estate in the area.
