NEW YORK CITY — The Big Apple will see its first round of wintry temperatures over the weekend and possibly even snow heading into next week, forecasters at AccuWeather said Friday.
After a windy and mild Friday in the New York City metro area, light rain is predicted to shower the city overnight, leading into a pleasant Saturday with a high in the mid-60s.
A dip in the jet stream will allow frigid air to expand over eastern states from Sunday night to Tuesday morning, according to AccuWeather forecasters. An Alberta clipper from Canada will also bring Arctic air to New York City.

On Sunday, the city has a 70 percent chance of a rain shower, ushering in a much colder and windy start to next week. By Monday, the low will be in the mid-30s, a forecast that includes the potential for snow flurries in the city.
"No accumulating snow is forecast to reach the Interstate 95 corridor of the Northeast," reports AccuWeather. "However, there is a chance of a stray snow shower occurring in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C."
