WNYC Turns 100: Join The Party In Central Park On Monday

The free event will feature radio favorites like Ira Glass, Brooke Gladstone, Alison Stewart, and more.

CENTRAL PARK, NY – WNYC is on stage at Central Park on Monday, where the radio station will celebrate its 100th anniversary on Monday, Sept. 9.

The Centennial Celebration, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m., and is hosted by voice-of-the-station Brian Lehrer.

Guests include Ira Glass of “This American Life,” Brooke Gladstone of “On the Media,” Alison Stewart of “All of It,” as well as surprise attendees who could quite possibly include “Radiolab” favorites Lulu Miller, Latif Nasser, Jad Abumrad, and the recently retired Robert Krulwich.

Expect storytelling, music, trivia, and performances by Freestyle Love Supreme, mxmtoon, and Nada Surf.

The event is part of City Parks Foundation’s SummerStage series, which concludes in the fall. More information is available here.
