Bicycle World Recognized With 'Retailer Excellence Award' From Peers

MOUNT KISCO, NY — A small business that has become a local institution, has cemented its reputation as one of the best bicycle dealerships in the country.

Bicycle World, located at 7 E. Main St. in Mount Kisco, has just been certified by the National Bicycle Dealership Association (NBDA) as being among this year's top local bicycle retailers in America. Fewer than 50 qualified for this honor, and this year, Bicycle World is New York's only shop to receive this award.

According to the NBDA, awardees require not only great shopping experiences and expert leadership, but also support for their local community and national cycling advocacy.

"It is a huge honor to receive the 2024 NBDA Retailer Excellence Award," said Ilene Marcos, Bicycle World co-owner. "We're so grateful to our dedicated staff, our loyal customers and our supportive community for helping us to achieve this goal."

The nominees worked with the NBDA over three months to meet current challenging industry conditions and turn them into opportunities for growth and excellence, according to the trade group. The winners developed communications, elevated key performance indicators, organized community events, and gathered feedback from the community — all with a focus on achieving retail excellence.
