Chappaqua Library Adds 2 Museums To Pass Program

Use one to check out someplace new or revisit an old favorite.

CHAPPAQUA, NY — The Chappaqua Library has added two new museums to the Museum Pass Program: the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum in Manhattan and the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers.

The Cooper Hewitt is the only museum in the country devoted exclusively to historical and contemporary design. Its Immersion Room invites visitors to select digital images from the museum's extraordinary collection of wallcoverings (or sketch their own design) and project them onto the walls at full scale to see their impact. Current exhibits include "Deconstructing Power: W. E. B. Du Bois at the 1900 World’s Fair."

The Hudson River Museum features art, science and history, including three shows Saturdays and Sundays at the planetarium. Coming up over the weekend, a creative workshop celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip hop!

And there's another change coming. The loan period has been three days, two nights. Starting in March, it is extended to 4 days, 3 nights.

Passes are free to card holders aged 18+ who have no outstanding fines. You can reserve one pass, per household, per month up to 30 days in advance. The fine is $10/day if you're late returning the pass — and $50 if the pass is returned in the book drop.

Read the Museum Pass Policy for more details.

Just remember, some museums require advance purchase, timed entry tickets. Patrons are responsible for making those reservations ahead of time if required.

The pass program is sponsored and underwritten by the Friends of the Chappaqua Library
