Chappaqua Schools Propose Budget Increase

The proposed budget totals $119, 571,688, which is a 1.14 percent increase from the 2016-17 budget.

CHAPPAQUA, NY—The Chappaqua Board of Education will consider the 2017-18 school budget, proposed by Interim Superintendent Daniel McCann, over the course of several upcoming meetings.

The proposed budget totals $119, 571,688, which is a 1.14 percent increase from the 2016-17 budget. The budget aims to stay within with the mandated New York State tax cap set at 2.14 percent.

The 2017-18 Chappaqua school budget will maintain current class size, add an art teacher to the elementary school and a teacher for advance placement Social Studies courses, as well as hiring a nurse for the high school.

Parts of the budget will be discussed between March 8 and the vote on May 16.
