CHAPPAQUA, NY — In addition to a brand-new look, one of Westchester's best known dining spots has a new chef with an equally impressive reputation at the helm.

Basso 56, the famed Italian restaurant located in Chappaqua, announced that it has transformed into Basso by PXK, under the culinary direction of renowned chef Peter X. Kelly. His vision for the restaurant will start with dinner service on Wednesday.

Basso by PXK says that it offers a contemporary Italian dining experience that honors tradition while embracing innovation. Kelly says running a kitchen focused on one specific cuisine is new territory for him.

"I have always worked balancing several distinct cuisines in an attempt to create a cuisine with a global reach with a local feel," the chef said. "Focusing on a single cuisine — Italian — has been incredibly inspiring. I'm motivated to work within the Italian vernacular and truly appreciate the nuances of great Italian food."
