Man Killed By Metro-North Train ID'd As 42-Year-Old From Chappaqua

CHAPPAQUA, NY — A Westchester man whose life ended tragically at the Metro-North station has been identified.

The 42-year-old was killed early Friday morning after he was hit by a Harlem Line train at the Chappaqua station, an MTA spokesperson told Patch.

The man, identified as David B. Gerrard, was hit by a train while trespassing on the tracks at approximately 9 a.m.

The incident resulted in approximately 10-15 minute delays, with Harlem Line service returning to on or close to schedule at around 11 a.m., MTA officials said.

This was the second fatal Metro-North incident in Westchester County this week. On Wednesday, 59-year-old Gabriel Rocael Barrios, of Mamaroneck, was killed while trespassing on the Port Chester train station tracks.
