Mount Kisco Faith Communities Join For Sesquicentennial Celebration
The event is part of a series of yearlong celebrations marking 150 years since Mount Kisco was incorporated as a vilage.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — The village is celebrating its sesquicentennial by honoring the same sense of community that helped put Mount Kisco on the map.
This year marks 150 years since the incorporation of Mount Kisco as a village, and the yearlong sesquicentennial celebrations, made possible by the Mount Kisco Historical Society in collaboration with the village and several organizations, kicks off this month.
Everyone is invited to join in the celebrations this Sunday, at 2 p.m., in the Mount Kisco Public Library and learn more about the rich heritage of Faith Communities in the area. Several clergy will be present, along with Mayor Cindrich, Legislator Pierce and Assembly Member Burdick.

An exhibition of photographs of historic houses of worship, past and present faith communities, and interfaith projects will be on display at the Mount Kisco Public Library until February 23.
"We have some amazing vintage photographs on display, including an early, all-girls choir procession at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church," said John Rhodes, a trustee of the Mount Kisco Historical Society who worked on restoring some of the images.
Some of the photos date back to the 19th century, such as an 1893 photo of the Methodist-Episcopal Church, and one of St. Mark's Episcopal Church at its first location at the center of the cemetery at today's St. Mark's Place.
The event is free of charge and the exhibition will be open during library hours. The library is located at 100 East Main Street, in Mount Kisco. For more information, send an email to this address.
