Once Upon A Time: Bedford-Armonk Rotary Club Brightens Kids' Days

MOUNT KISCO, NY — In the best of times, there may be no better feeling than reading your kids a bedtime story until they can't keep their eyes open any longer, and drift off to dreamland.

Thanks to the efforts of the local Rotary Club, this rite of passage is possible even if a family finds itself practicing the ritual in less than ideal circumstances.

This is a story of a community organization supporting the place where their neighbors turn for medical help — spoiler alert — this tale has a happy ending.

The president of the Bedford-Armonk Rotary Club, Abbot Fluer, and volunteer William Taufic recently stopped by to donate 250 children’s books, 60 of them in Spanish, to Northern Westchester Hospital.

The Rotary Club raises funds to purchase the books specifically for Northern Westchester Hospital, which are used throughout the hospital, including the emergency department and pediatric unit.
