CHAPPAQUA, NY — The 2024 budget and school board vote is May 21, and one seat is up for election on the Chappaqua School District Board of Education.

The proposed spending plan of $141,856,238 is 2.57 percent higher than the current budget.

The tax levy is expected to rise 2.99 percent, which will require a 60 percent voter approval.

District officials said that the budget would support: salaries, benefits, debt services, o&m, transportation and other costs.

"Our budget prioritizes continued excellence in our K-12 academic program, supports student well-being and emotional development, improves safety and security, and provides important facilities upgrades," Superintendent Christine Ackerman said.

One, three-year term board seat is up for election.

Candidates running include: Cailee Hwang, Kimberly Carey, Timothy McNamara

In addition, three candidates, Jennifer Fahey, Allyson Jacobs and Sean Maraynes, are running for one, three-year term vacancy on the Library Board of Trustees.

The Chappaqua Library is proposing a $3,669,352 budget.
