The Scoop On This Year's Westchester County Police 'Cops & Cones'
In addition to being a good time, the event is intended to "build relationships one scoop at a time," according to officials.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — The Westchester County Police Department and the Mount Kisco Fire Department are ready to help kick off the Labor Day weekend early.
An annual tradition when the community gets a chance to see cops as people and the police get a chance to know the neighbors they serve better, while having a little fun at the same time, returns this year.
The Westchester County Police Department will again host the Cops & Cones Community Night in downtown Mount Kisco. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, August 31, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the South Moger municipal parking lot. The rain date is September 1.

Officials say that there will be free ice cream and inflatable amusements, as well as a variety of WCPD equipment, including the department’s helicopter and specialized vehicles. Fire apparatus from the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department will also be on display.
"The weather looks great, and the WCPD and MKFD are gearing up for a terrific night with community members of all ages," the department said, inviting the community. "Your local police officers and first responders building relationships — one cone at a time."

South Moger Avenue downtown will be closed at 3 p.m. The best parking for this year's event will be at the Blackeby, Shoppers Park, and the North Moger municipal lots.
"The Westchester County Police have the privilege of providing municipal police services to the people of Mount Kisco," Public Safety Commissioner Terrance Raynor said. "The annual Cops & Cones event enables us to give back to the community and strengthen the relationship between our officers and the people they protect."
The commissioner thanked Mayor Gina Picinich, the Board of Trustees, the village manager’s office, the Mount Kisco Highway Department, the Mount Kisco Fire Department, and the local businesses whose support makes Cops & Cones possible.
