WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — There won't be any fast lanes on a stretch of the Taconic for much of the day Wednesday as roadwork will keep traffic slow-moving.

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) said two lanes are expected to close along the Taconic State Parkway northbound between Exit 6 (Pleasantville Road) in the Town of Mount Pleasant and Exit 8 (State Routes 100/133) in the Town of New Castle for bridge maintenance. The closures will take place on Wednesday between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., weather permitting.

The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a driver's license suspension.
