Train Like A Real Ninja Warrior, Just Around The Corner
Do you remember a time when fun, fitness, play and exercise were all one and the same? One Chappaqua gym is hoping to bring back the joy.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — If you ever imagined yourself on "American Gladiator," now is your chance to get into fighting shape (and maybe grab a vanilla chai latte after training).
It can be tough to keep yourself motivated if your workout involves the same exercise equipment day in and day out, but what if instead of heading to the gym, your routine involved Parkour, Ninja Warrior, and an obstacle course?
Making this fantasy a reality could be much easier than you might think.

Roam Further Athletics, a new training center and coffee bar inside Grand Prix New York Racing & Entertainment on North Bedford Road in Mount Kisco, now offers an offbeat, movement-oriented approach to health and fitness. The obstacle-based training center for kids and grownups is open for the unique classes coached by professional athletes.
"Roam's founders have been practitioners of movement and exploration for well over a decade," Joe Cannato, the creator of Roam Further Athletics explained. "We believe movement is the fundamental way in which we interact with the world. We're excited to introduce Roam to the broader community."

The list of available classes reads like a reality television show lineup, but are intended to build strength and fitness as well as entertain.
Roam's "Active Youth classes" focus on reinforcing and refining children's natural curiosity for movement and desire for achievement through the foundations of Parkour. The structured programs will teach them new skills, methods of movement, as well as ways to express themselves.
The youth classes are based on age:
- Little Roamers — 18 months to three-years-old
- Little Roamer & Me — three to five-and-a-half-years-old
- Roamers — separate classes for five to seven-year-olds and seven to ten-year-olds
- Roamans — ten to 14-years-old and classes 14 years and older.
In addition to classes, Roam will offer youth camps during holiday vacation and summers. The camp structure emphasizes experiential learning, team-building activities and unique skill development, according to organizers.
"Roam Fit" adult classes are workouts that are designed to not feel like work. The coach-led classes are said to emphasize " a skill-focused fitness in obstacle-oriented stations." Roam also offers "free sessions" for athletes looking for a self-guided option. Meanwhile, one-on-one training sessions are also available.
The facility also offers a coffee bar with real baristas and "mindfully sourced" ingredients for a place to unwind after striving for a personal best time running the gauntlet.
