Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Speakers For Students with Autism

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

This week we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

Volunteer Angels
Volunteer Angels receive training to learn how to provide helpful information about treatment facilities for those struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. Volunteers can choose to volunteer either in-person or remotely.
Date: Flexible schedule; 4+ hours per month

Location: New Rochelle/Remote

Volunteer Presenters for Students with Autism
Volunteers are needed to deliver presentations about interesting topics, speak about their hobbies and careers, or even perform an instrument or sing to help spark students' creativity and interests. Volunteers can serve on a one-time basis or return on a regular schedule, such as weekly or monthly.

Graduation Coaches
Essay Coaches
Graduation Coaches match with students in 10th grade and establish a strong foundation for their relationship throughout their high school career, including assisting with the college application process, career exploration, and celebrating their accomplishments upon graduation. Essay Coaches provide support to students as they write their college essays. All training and support are provided and volunteers must be 21.
