Westchester Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter (DAR) Welcomes 101 New Citizens

(White Plains, NY) Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR presents U.S. Flags and Flag Code Booklets to new citizens at Naturalization Ceremony

Members of the Polly Cooper Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), proudly welcomed 101 new U.S. citizens at the July Naturalization Ceremony held at the Richard J. Daronco Courthouse in White Plains, New York. The Honorable Rolf Thorsen presided over the ceremony, offering an inspiring address that reflected on the significance of the occasion and the guiding principles of democracy, freedom, and civic responsibility that define American citizenship. Following his remarks, individuals representing 42 different countries took the Oath of Allegiance, administered by Westchester County Clerk Timothy C. Idoni, and officially became citizens of the United States!

DAR chapters across Westchester attend each naturalization ceremony held at the Richard J. Daronco Courthouse, where they present new citizens with U.S. flags and a copy of the U.S. Flag Code, which
outlines proper display, care, and respect for the American flag. They are joined by members of the League of Women Voters, who provide voter registration information.

Celebrating and supporting the path to citizenship has long been a proud tradition of the DAR. The DAR Manual for Citizenship serves as a valuable resource not only for those preparing for naturalization but also for anyone interested in learning more about U.S. citizenship and immigration.
