It is New Year's Eve weekend and there are plenty of parties and celebrations taking place across New York City.

NEW YORK, NY — It is New Year's weekend and there is plenty to do around the city over the next few days.

From the ball drop in Times Square or a 24-hour dance party in Queens, there are lots of options for fun in the coming days.

Saturday

NYRR Midnight Run: Central Park

The New York Road Runners will host its annual Midnight Run in celebration of New Year's Eve, which will include cardio, fireworks, music and more.

The run will kick off Saturday at 11:59 p.m. from the 72nd Street Transverse off West Drive in the park.

Times Square Ball Drop: Times Square

For those who don't mind massive crowds, there is no more famous New York City New Year's event than the ball drop in Times Square.

The celebration kicks off around 6 p.m. on Saturday. You can get a view of the ball from 43rd to 50th streets, and along Seventh Avenue as far north as 59th Street.

New Year's Eve Fireworks in Prospect Park: Prospect Park, Brooklyn

For the first time since 2020, Prospect Park will again host a major fireworks display this New Year's Eve.

The show will take part at the Grand Army Plaza and include live music for the majority of the night.

New Year's Nonstop: Ridgewood, Queens

A 24-hour nonstop dance party is taking place in Queens in celebration of New Year's Eve.

The party will take place at Nowadays at 56-06 Cooper Ave., and tickets are divided by entry time. You can stay as long as you like once you've entered.

Coney Island Polar Bear Plunge: Coney Island, Brooklyn

The annual cold plunge for a good cause will take place again this Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Coney Island Beach.

The plunge that is now in its 120th year raises money for local community organizations, and is hosted by the Coney Island Polar Bear Club.

New York Giants vs. Indianapolis Colts: MetLife Stadium

For all the Giants fans, there would be no better way to begin the new year than watching your team clinch a playoff birth.

The Giants are taking on the struggling Colts at 1 p.m., and a win means they would be in the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
