The Park Restaurant May Be Replaced With 10-Story Office Building
The one-story building that houses the hip destination may be replaced with a new building, city records show.

CHELSEA, NY — Neighborhood restaurant The Park may be replaced with a 10-story office building, according to new permits filed with the city's Department of Buildings.
The mixed-use building threatens to uproot the 118 10th Ave. restaurant, which is known for its "splashy retro aesthetic," expansive dining room and American eats with a Mediterranean twist.

The restaurant currently operates out of a single-story commercial building but could give way to a more than 109,000 square-foot building with some 86,000 square feet dedicated to commercial space, according to building plans filed with the city.
Retail space will be included in the ground food, records show. Plans list Brandon Klein of the Real Estate Executive Council as the developer behind the project.

Real Estate Executive Council and the The Park did not immediately return requests for comment, though an employee at the eatery said that there are no plans to close The Park.
