9 Injured After Van Pushed Onto Sidewalk In Chelsea Crash: Authorities
Eight of those taken to hospitals were pedestrians, police said.
NEW YORK — Nine people were injured in a crash Monday in Chelsea, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. in the area of 8th Avenue and West 30th Street, authorities said. A box truck traveling north on 8th Avenue struck a parked and empty van, forcing the van onto the sidwalk, where it hit multiple pedestrians, according to police.
A vehicle also struck a building in connection with the crash, according to the fire department, which reported nine people suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and were taken to hospitals. Eight of those brought to hospitals were pedestrians, police said.
