Local residents, organizations and businesses in Commack took time over the weekend to honor and remember those who lost their lives on 9/11. Here are highlights of some local tributes.
1. CHS 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. Hundreds of community members gathered at the Heroes Field at Commack High School to pay tribute to the victims and heroes of 9/11 at the tenth annual candlelight remembrance ceremony.
2. The Commack School District and Paint A Piece each honored the victims and heroes of 9/11 with moving visual displays.
