Campagnola Restaurant Closes Its Doors

, a popular italian eatery and pizzeria, closed its doors early last month. 

Located in the on Jericho Turnpike, the cozy storefront restaraunt opened in 2009, when Vincenzo Ricci took over Amici's. In addition to its authentic italian cusisine, Campagnola was known for its painted murals of Italian scenery and red checkered table linens.

A notice from the Suffolk County Sherriff's Department, which was posted on the front door of the now-abandoned storefront stated the landlord is in possession of the premises as mandated by a court order.

The restaurant's closing comes as a surprise to many. Several locals stood outside the vacant property Friday afternoon, peering through windows and scrambling for an alternative lunch spot.

"I guess we're not getting a slice now," said one man to his friend, as they walked back to their car and drove off.
